| The  signing of five Memoranda of Understanding between the WIETE and five academic  institutions took place at the Conference Gala Banquet, held in Pattaya,  Thailand, on Wednesday, 24 February 2010. The representatives of the signing  institutions were: Prof. Kaliappan Manivannan who signed on behalf of two academic  institutions in Tamil Nadu, India, that is VMKV Engineering College at Vinayaka  Mission’s University in Salem and RMK Engineering College in Chennai; Prof.  Slawomir Wiak, Dean, for the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control  Engineering at the Technical University of Lodz, Lodz, Poland; Mr R.  Srinivasan, Executive Director of KSR Group of Institutions, signed on behalf  of K.S.  Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode, India; and Prof. Promod Vohra,  Dean, for the College of Engineering & Engineering Technology,  Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois, USA. With  the signing of these MoUs, the number of Partner Institutions has risen to 15  academic establishments, hence significantly strengthening the WIETE global  network of engineering and technology education. The WIETE staff, members and  associates cordially welcome the new Partner Institutions, and look forward to  close collaboration for the benefit of the members of the WIETE network and its  Partner Institutions. After  the signing of the MoUs, the signatories plus the two Vice-Presidents of the  WIETE International Academic Advisory Committee, that is Prof. Harold P.  Sjursen and Prof. Adiranayana Kalanidhi, as well as Dr Venkatachalam Rajendran,  Director of Research and Development at KSR Group of Institutions, took part in an occasional  photo session.
